Hold on to your hats, folks! Metaplanet is on a Bitcoin shopping spree like no other! This ambitious Japanese investment firm now boasts a whopping 3,350 BTC in its digital vault after snapping up an extra 150 BTC for a cool $12.6 million. And they're not stopping there. With eyes set on the prize, they're aiming to hoard 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and a jaw-dropping 21,000 BTC by 2026. That's a slice of the Bitcoin pie that would make them holders of 1% of the total Bitcoin supply!

They've been on a tear this year, adding 1,288 BTC in just the first 11 weeks. That's like a kid in a candy store, but with Bitcoin! The average price tag on their latest digital goodies? A hefty $83,801 per BTC, bringing their total Bitcoin bill to $278.8 million with an average price of $83,224 each. Talk about going all in!

Metaplanet has been funding this grand adventure through stock acquisition rights and zero-interest bonds, even pulling off some financial gymnastics by redeeming and issuing new bonds worth ¥2 billion ($12.8 million) in March alone. They were on a buying blitz, grabbing 156 BTC here, 497 BTC there, and so on. It's like they're collecting limited-edition Bitcoin figurines!

And the excitement doesn't stop there. Metaplanet's stock price soared by 6.98% in just 24 hours, now trading at ¥5,060. It's no wonder they're Asia’s largest publicly listed Bitcoin holder and among the top 10 in the world. To top it off, they just formed an advisory board with none other than Eric Trump as the first member. While his role remains a mystery, CEO Simon Gerovich is confident that this star-studded board will catapult them towards becoming a leading Bitcoin treasury titan.

This Bitcoin bonanza comes as Japan starts to lighten up on crypto regulations. The country's Liberal Democratic Party recently proposed slashing crypto capital gains taxes from 55% to 20% and giving crypto its own asset class status. It's a whole new world for crypto in Japan, and Metaplanet is leading the charge!
