Guess who's stepping into the crypto spotlight? It's Clearstream, the European financial giant, ready to make waves by rolling out Bitcoin and Ethereum custody services for banks and big institutions. With a mission to make crypto adoption as easy as a Sunday morning, Clearstream is shaking up the digital finance world.

Coming up later this year, Clearstream’s crypto custody and settlement services will be available to their institutional clients. And who's leading the charge? Their trusty sidekick, Crypto Finance, which will take on the role of sub-custodian. It's like the dynamic duo of the financial world!

Starting next month, Clearstream's 2,500 clients will get a golden ticket to secure their Bitcoin and Ethereum. But wait, there's more! The company has grand plans to expand its crypto menu, offering services like staking, lending, and brokerage. It's a crypto buffet, and everyone's invited!

Jens Hachmeister, the mastermind behind issuer services and new digital markets, says they're creating the ultimate one-stop shop for all things custody, brokerage, and settlement. And in the future? They’re eyeing stablecoins and tokenized securities. The future looks bright, and it’s filled with digital gold!

Crypto Finance's CEO, Stijn Vander Straeten, reveals that this plan has been brewing for about a year. It's all about giving banks and big institutions a fast pass to digital assets using tech and compliance tools they know and trust.

Did you know that Clearstream is one of Europe's heavyweight clearing houses, managing a whopping $21.7 billion in assets? Now, its clients will have a seamless way to dip their toes into the crypto waters using their existing Clearstream accounts. Talk about convenience!

Financial giants are increasingly jumping into the digital asset pool, especially with regulatory green lights shining from places like the EU, Singapore, and the UAE. Vander Straeten mentions that international banks have been buzzing with excitement since the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) came into play. Some institutions are spending millions to build crypto teams, but with Clearstream, they get a free ticket to the crypto party.

This launch adds to the triumph in Germany, where Boerse Stuttgart Digital Custody made history as the first to snag a full MiCA authorization. And over in Spain, BBVA SA is set to roll out crypto trading for retail clients, starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum through their mobile app. It’s a new dawn for crypto in Europe, and everyone’s invited!
