Hold onto your digital hats, folks! While most altcoins are nursing their wounds in the red, Solana (SOL) is basking in the glory, soaring by a cool 10% today. Talk about stealing the spotlight!
In the past 24 hours, Bitcoin has been on a wild ride, hitting a jaw-dropping $106,000 for the first time this year. But, just as it was getting comfy, it got nudged back down by about three grand. Those pesky resistance levels!
The week kicked off with a dramatic plunge for Bitcoin, plummeting from $96,000 to a multi-month low of $89,200. But fear not, the bulls charged in to save the day, turning the tide and sending BTC back on an upward trajectory.
Within a day, Bitcoin clawed back over $7,000 to hover around $97,000. Then, the US CPI numbers strutted in on Wednesday, giving Bitcoin an unexpected boost to $98,500, and it just kept climbing, eyeing that magical $100,000 mark.
After a slight hiccup, Bitcoin blasted through, reaching heights not seen since its all-time high back in mid-December, peaking at $106,000. Cue the confetti cannons!
But alas, it couldn't quite push past the $108,000 mark and has since settled at around $103,000. Still, not too shabby, with a market cap flirting with $2.050 trillion and its dominance over altcoins nearing 55%.
The altcoin party, however, has hit a bit of a snag. After some impressive gains, they're now in retreat mode. XRP was tantalizingly close to a new all-time high at $3.4, but now finds itself grappling at $3.1.
Ethereum has dipped below $3,300, BNB is sitting at $700, DOGE is under $0.4, and ADA has slipped below the $1.1 mark. Other coins like AVAX, XLM, SHIB, HBAR, and DOT are also feeling the pinch.
But back to our star of the show, SOL, which has defied the odds, climbing by 10% and reaching its highest point since early December, nearly touching $240. Talk about a comeback!
Despite the slight dip in the total crypto market cap since yesterday's peak, it's still riding high above $3.7 trillion. The crypto market never sleeps, and neither should your attention! Keep those eyes peeled for the next big move.
